Finance

The Finance Department oversees bond issuance for capital projects, all bill payments, payroll processing and payroll tax filings, investments, foreclosures, reconciling of cash / school accounts, accounts receivable, preparing annual budgets for review by the Budget Committee and the Board of Selectmen, working with the Auditors on the annual financial statements.

Human Resources

Human Resources provides recruitment, labor and employee relations, benefits administration, training, compliance, and safety in the workplace.

Parks & Recreation

The mission of the Parks and Recreation Board is to advise the Department (PRD) and its Director on current and future PRD programs and activities, to be a liaison between the citizens and agencies of the Town of York and the PRD in all matters pertaining to parks and recreation programs, and in cooperation with other town institutions to promote health and wellness within the Town.

The York Center for Active Living is a division of York Parks and Recreation Department.

Beach Fire

The York Beach Fire Department protects the northern half of the town, while York Village Fire Department protects the southern half of the town.

Village Fire

The York Fire Department is one of two fire departments that protect the town of York, Maine. The York Fire Department covers approximately ½ of the 56 Square Miles that York Encompasses.

General Assistance Program

The Municipality of York, Maine administers a General Assistance Program for the support of the poor.

The York Code Enforcement Department administers York's Zoning Ordinances, Building Codes, Licensing Ordinance, and the Impact Fee Ordinance. We deal with most land use, construction, development and conservation issues facing the community.
